oil change, was the filter replaced and was it the right one, double check to see if something may be wrong there.
was it making any strange sounds when the light was on?

...checked the oil pump clearances and they were with in .004 of an inch. oil path is clean....
Were the oil pump O-rings okay?

One thing I'd be confirming that oil indeed is reaching up top (cams)!
Could be that the oil sending unit is acting up as well...

If low, this could also cause the intermittent on/off lamp lighting during a hard twist and such....
