Blue Z1R has a home made belt drive alternator and the green one runs a Drouin supercharger.

Hi. The alternator was done
    1
. For a bet and
    2
. because i could and as a bonus it also does away with lots of wiring and the external reg and rec. Also there is no cnc work on either bike, It's was all done by hand in a vice using big hammers and files and lots of skinned knuckles :) .

Apologies to jayw704 for his thread going off track with my stuff  .

Back on topic.

To compensate for the smaller radius of the 17" wheel you should aim for a sprocket ratio of about 1.94 to 1.

I have been running this ratio happily for the last 10 years almost everday (its my main transport) and this gives me approx 60mph at 3500rpm, 70mph at 4000 rpm ,140 at 8000 rpm and has allowed me to pull (with tuned engine) 165mph and still going at 11000rpm.

Hey Zed,

Beautiful bikes! What are the specs on the supercharged bike? Carb, exhaust, CC, CR, cam, boost, front/rear shocks, etc. Any hp and torque figues?

Thanks!

with my 1075 setup i use a 630 chain and 15 front and 33 rear i stayed with the 630 because of the ease of installing the master link a 530 rear sprocket would just be too tiny with this gearing i'm roughly about 3750 rpm at 6o miles an hour it is very smooth and not buzy at all very good to tour with. if i want to play i swap over to a 14 39 combo. don't know what it revs at 60 miles an hour but it sure is fun.

Hi.
Carb is Keihin 42mm pumper as opposed to the original 55mm injector(which i never had).
Exhaust is hybrid new one off headers to my spec to the collector then various recycled scrap for the link pipe and what masqurades as a silencer.
Capacity is wiseco 1075 with CR just under 8-1.
Cams are stock on slotted sprockets currently on 110 deg lobe centers but maybe going to 112 on the ex at some point in the future.
blower gearing is currently set for around 8psi boost for the road.
Front end is Zx9r and rear is xjr1300sp swinger with gsx1400 shocks.
Not got any power figures etc yet as the weather here was turning just as i finished the build in oct 09, Did manage to do a couple of short runs before the winter set in and it goes very well to say the least :woohoo: , just need to do some fine tuning and gradually put some longer planned trips under its belt before i can trust its reliability as a daily ride. .

Lots more pic's and details at the - z1ownersclub.co.uk - website in projects under the heading DROUIN SUPERCHARGED Z1000.

Hi.I'm running two z1000,s (both 1075 wiseco) with 17" zxr wheels. First one (z1r) is spot on running 17-33 gearing with 630 pitch and the other (Drouin) runs 18-40 with 530 pitch but could do with going to 19t on the front.

Very Nice!

You do great work :)
