Larry,

I'm sticking with stock cams for now. Might go with Web 118's later on. The cam chain and all the rollers ate up my money I had for cams!

Joe charges $125 to punch the 4 holes. Unfortunately he just had to raise his prices. Not to long ago he was charging only $100. I send all of my stuff to him, because here in the Chicago area about the cheapest you will find is $60 a hole. The last ones he did for me were my GPz1150.

Are these 83-84gpz pistons? MTC? what size pins? are they in an actual gpz engine or a kz bottom with the gpz top?

Yes, Joe Hooper is the owner of Pitstop Performance Orlando FL. The coating I do and it is a Ceramic crown with Molly skirt. The Ceramic is both a tremendous heat barrier and also prevents anything from sticking to the crowns. As you run your bike, carbon sticks to the crowns and unbalances the pistons, and also causes detonation and pre-ignition.. This prevents that from happening. Also it prevents oil from burning onto the underside of the dome because it lowers the temperature. The molly tightens up the bore and lowers skirt ware.

Those are GPZ domes with KZ skirts and in a custom 1150 size (66.5mm). 17mm pins KZ tranny with 84 GPz top. The ceramic is a dry applied product that is baked on at 650*f for 6 hours. The molly is applied while the piston is at 300*f They are German products.

Had piston skirts done in past by Swain in NY.Is the moly a self applied product or did you send them out for coating ?

300F* I can do, 650F* will be a little tougher...also my wife wants to know the moly smells like while baking ,thinking back to Gunkote in the oven projects.

OH-Yah it stinks. It smells like you have been shooting inside the house. I perform the process myself. I charge $12 per piston to do the molly and $20 a piston to do the ceramic crowns. There is a 20% discount if you have both done.

The film thickness is between .0003-.0004 So on the average about 3/4 of a thou in diameter.
