Just fired up my KZ900 after putting fresh rings and a valve job. Got a fuel leak on my carb conncecting tees and am assuming I can get the orings from Z1. I have seen some nice machined metal tees on Ebay also. I have rebuilt and sync. these carbs, but I will have to pull the end carbs off the rack to change these orings before I get to ride. I got a valve job, all new exhaust guides, and seals for around $240.00 from a place in Florida. I also put a 1.75 competition baffle without the packing. Sounds good, but can't ride until I fix fuel leak.

I love the vintage bike look. :) Japanese motorcycles today either look like Harley clones or something out of Star Wars.

SBC, Don't know if this is applicable, But did a carb clean on a set of 28mm vm's a couple weeks ago which had fuel "T's" which were 'rubber coated' (as opposed to "o'ringed"). before dis-assy,"t's" were sloppy, over night immersion in fuel restored them to snug fit.. (These carbs had been dry for a couple years) Just a thought.G

Every spring when the bikes come out of storage Ilet the carbs sit full of gas for a day b4 i but em back on they always leak a bit after sitting dry.but letting the seals soak for a day always cures the problem

May find that the two fuel pipes need replacing (as opposed to any o-rings).

Or existing pieces could be snugged by wrapping the ends with teflon tape (yellow tape supposedly withstands fuel better than the white version).

Click here for Fuel Pipe at Z1E

Good Luck! :)
