The pistons that came out of my bike

This bike has been through a few people, I am the 3rd owner in the last 5 years before that I dont know.

I agree. The stock pistons out of my 1000 looked the same. The bike had 8000 miles when I pulled them to install the 1075 kit. It was running strong with good compression. Now runs stronger with more compression.

i noticed that too....ringlands look a tad diff than the rest of piston......i figured , what the hell do i know..besides,..what the hell do i know....:laugh:

any time you see scratches like that 9 times out of ten it is caused by dirt when they were installed one of the main reasons in building the motor in one sitting. keep it and the area your working in spotless.

i cross scuff wine with emery cloth for better oil retention.
just something i learned from an old timer 20 years ago while building a 350 motor.
i let it follow over to bike motors.
but what the hell?
