Does anyone know where I can find plans for making this, or at lease a shop that sells them (rather make one)? Thanks!

+1 on weight concern. Even with pods, the lack of support that the box provided makes for a much shorter lifespan for the intake manifolds.

kaw-62046, that box is what I'm talking about.
KMKZHI, cool! Do you remember what website you found that on?

Hard to believe a smallish aluminum box would be all that heavy. The manifold rubbers hold the carbs pretty tight, and it could probably be braced if necessary.

It's not just the box it's the carbs themselves and the box. A std the airbox is braced when assembled correctly and the carbs are braced by the engine and the box. Without bracing on both ends of the carbs they want to flop. Now add an unbraced box and you have compounded the effect. I'd brace it. Not real interested in replacing 30 year old manifold rubbers if I don't have to. They are there as a seal and not as support. Gluck!

Way overkill, but hardly noticible.
