Camchain Tensioner Question...... was created by Martynbiker
Hi Guys, i am a fairly well experienced wrenchmonkey but I need some guidance here.
Is it possible to remove the automatic camchain tensioner on a KZ1000P ( 1993 model) WITHOUT removing the Carbs?
Anyone know?
Thanks
Martyn

If you can access the bolts to extract the tentioner without removing the carbs, then yes, removing the tentioner with the carbs still installed is just fine.
Good luck.
Good luck.

It's done all the time. Look at the tensioner and you'll see two bolts at the top and bottom. Take them out and the tensioner will fall out. Yes, it can be a struggle to get a socket in there, but that's how it's done.

Cool, Thanks, so it looks like I need to get myself a 1/4" drive universal joint and a 6 pack of patience. It doesnt help when I wear a size XXXL Glove, my hands are HUGE and it is tight in there.
I will post pics of me banging head on Garage floor and do a write up about it..... May as well give someone a laugh!
