Well, the year model for the motor is 1982...however, Kawasaki did some interesting things with several of it's motor series. The 750(4) series (which your number belongs in) went into (in North America) three different bikes in 1982 (the KZ750R1, the KZ750E3, and the KZ750H3)...these models all differed in performance despite having the base engine drawn from the same series. Differences in the motors had to do with cams, etc. So, to properly identify what model 750 the engine belongs in, you really need to closely describe the externals on the motor and possibly disassemble portions of the motor. Pictures would help enormously.

hhhmmm ok well i'll get some pics this morning all i know for sure is the oil pres switch is on the bottem of the motor

i hope thes help but other than the oil switch it looks the same as the motor that is in my 750 L3 witch is where i want to put it i like the black look

Yep, just from the photos, I'm fairly sure that the motor in question originally belonged in a 1982 KZ750R1 (aka GPz750). The switch on the bottom of the motor is an oil level switch. It was the first year GPz750, but wasn't particularly different from the L series.
