Yes, the R1 motor does not have an oil pressure switch, but it does have a plug where the switch would be (behind the coil pick-up). I don't have any idea how difficult the plug is to remove. This is also a good test to confirm that this is an R1 motor...if you pull the coil pick-up and find a plug instead of a switch
