What I need to know is piston-to-wall clearance and... well alllll what should be known before get block bored and engine re-assembled.
My English is "practical english in practis" - so what

Welcome ritiavanne,

I don't have the sheet you are looking for, but someone here does. And I'm sure of that. Others will come by shortly and welcome you to the forum and help you out. If not, then start a new topic with what you are looking for in the headline. That is sure to generate the help you are looking for. Be specific on the year, model and engine size you need this for. Your english is good to go here.

If you were here I could direct you to a machine shop pro who could put his calipers on the pistons and know the answer in a half second. You will want to number the pistons and keep them in order. A machine pro will cut each hole to match the piston, not just generic size.

FYI: nominal piston to cylinder clearance (factory spec) for my 750 twin is .04 - .07mm which I believe is about 1.5 to 2.8 thousanths of an inch. I know when they bored mine, they kept it on the tight end of that spec.

Twins have big diameter pistons so the clearance spec on a four hole is probably a bit tighter since they don't have to allow as much for expansion outward on the piston and inward on the sleeve. My guess would be about .001" - .002", but that's basically just a guess based on comparable sizing.

Hi Pete, welcome aboard.

We have at least one other member from Finland here, what's even better is that he also happens to own an R2.

His online name here is Z1109R Fin - below is a link to one thread he posted in, when you get to the thread just click the PM button to send him a personal message. He's a really nice guy who knows a lot about these bikes, I'm sure he can help you out or point you in the right direction and in your own language too.

Send me a pm if he doesn't answer, I know where to get hold of him.

Thanks for wellcomin!

Yes I know the pistons should be measured individually 'n make holes grounded to that.
Like "kano" says I've tried to contact Wiseco via e-mail - no answer what so ever.. only automatic one to turn local dealer. They don't have knowledge.. about anything
I've consult with one machinerist.. so I think everything goes well.
No hurry what so ever... next season is far away :( :(
No Thors here... only SISU

i have a wiseco 1075 kit at home with the paperwork.i can look tonight and see what it says(if i remember).i bore and hone m/c engines and have for several thousand holes and many, many years.forged pistons have to have a lil more clearance for expansion than cast pistons.wiseco will call for .003 thousandths clearance,i would set them up for someone i knew would/could break it in properly at .0025 thousandths.hth,
