Hi Gane,
Thanka a lot for your post.

Yeah..I just figured out that the color of the nuts dont have anything to do with wich partnumber to use as replacement.

Will have to read your post many times next to the engine and try to understand it.

Thing is that I allready ordered the rod bearings.
Found a "0" on counterweight for the number 4 piston, the rest (both counterweights and rods) were unmarked.
This lead me to the conclution that I needed 1 set of 13034-052 (Brown) and 3 set´s of 13034-051 (Black) rod bearings.
Had to change my order on E-bay and had a loooong e-mail dialog with the guy before we got it right.
Read in the work shop manual that it was considered as "false economy" not to replace while you had the engine disassembeled.

I dont know what to think anymore, maybe I just leave it alone. Then again, its a shame not to replace when I have the engine in parts and will put time into the case glas blaser it and so on. I have quite a lot of rattle while engine idles on low revs. Hoped this would go away with new bearings/shells.

Anyway...will get back when I analysed you post.

This is the picture that shows the color on the nuts.

BUT...this has nothing to with the color code on spare part 13034-052 Brown Rod Bearing !!!!

Tried to figure out Gane´s info.

This is the number that I found.

On flywheel, the side facing the engine:
1530 037000 6U ALLZ07 ND

On all 4 rods, moulded figures, on big end:
3 42

On crank shaft, moulded figures, on counterweight in middle:
44

On crank shaft, on counterweight next to pistonrod to nr 4 cylinder, steel stamped:
0

See picture below
Am I on the right track or way off ?

This is how I determined that I need "blue" crank shaft bearings.

Number 1. No " 1 " marks on crank shaft
Number 2. No " 0 " marks on crank case
Number 3. Some blue residue of color on shells

With this info the workshop manual indicates part nr. 92028-1100 "Blue" which now has been replaced with part nr. 92028-1917.

I now put this thread to rest..

i found the proper lower rod bearings (the -051, Black code) for my kz750r but i can not seem to find any part number correlating the color code or bearing thickness for bearings- 92028-1156, 1157, 1158.. does anyone know the bearing thickness or color code for these bearings. im pretty sure 1156 is blue/green. 1157 is black, and 1158 is brown... Can anyone verify.?
