In your pic I have circled in red the bolt I think you were talking about. When I first got the bike, I thought that was another oil drain, but it's too high.

The screw I have circled in blue may be the one I'm talking about, though I thought it was further under (too dark out to check now).

The brown arrow shows the path of the oil leak, which is coming from somewere above where the top of the pic stops. Though it is near the split between the stator cover and the engine case, it is not coming from there.

I'll try to get my own pic of this tomorrow. Thanks!

The phillips head screw is for the stator cover.

Best thing to do to identify where exactly the leak is coming from is to clean the area well with simple green or dish soap and water, dry it off , put baby powder all over the area, start the bike and watch.

until you do that it's all speculation. Oil could be coming from a lot of places like cyinder base gasket. stator cover etc etc.

Or if it's not a big deal just learn to live with it. I got a few small seeps and as long as they dont get any worse it's not worth my while tearing down the motor just to fix them

Good luck

That bolt circled in red is one of the bolts tht holds the cases together. You will just have to clean everything reall good and start the bike and watch where it leaks from.It could be coming from a lot of different places. Most likely its coming from one of the o-rings between the top of the case and the bottom of the cylinder.polkat wrote:

I agree with txturbo. At work I'll clean an engine then run it on the rack while watching for leak. If not showing up will have customer drive it for a couple days and then return. Depends weather it's a pressure leak or not. Let us know... ;)
