the combustion chambers are completly different so if your installing the ltd head on the gpz block you may have to change pistons that would be my big concern in order to change from shim over to shim under you will have to use all the gpz componets depending on cam lift you may have to clearance the bucket bores and possibly the head it self.

a 84 ltd 1100 is a gpz motor.
for those of us that own one, we have a kick ass kawasaki motor. 102 factory hp.
to use under buckets you would need to change the retainers, that's it.
you can not use kz pistons in a gpz motor. they are different.
the cams are a little different but who uses stock cams?
if anyone wants stock kz cams, just pm me.
i have a ton for just shipping.
schoolteacher is right.
kawasaki put these motors in cruisers as a shakedown test before going all out.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

to be perfectly honest i don't think ive ever seen an 84 ltd 1100 or the zn1100 up here or ever had the head off of one this info is good to know if i ever am looking for that style of head. now i have other options not just the late model gpz. they say if you don't learn something new everyday you may as well be dead, it look's as if im good for another one then. thanks for the info.

the gpz head is the bigger, bathtub shape chamber , the j is round. the gpz will give u about .5 less compresion ratio when compaired to the j chamber.

you can use kz pistons with a gpz head but you really should fly cut the pistons first for bigger valve relief.
it has been said a hundred times here you will lose compression going that way. almost 2 points.
would make a killer turbo motor though.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.
