I ordered them from Dennis Kirk. 3 days shipping. I went with UPS worldwide because I wanted them fast, winter is coming and I wanted to get a month or two out of them. Upside to UPS worldwide is fast shipping and no brokerage fees at the door, downside is it cost a bit more upfront. If it was june I would have ordered them regular post, but the extra coin was worth having them to play with on the weekend. All in all a pleaseant experience.

I put a V&H 4-1 meg on my KZ650B1 at the beginning of this season & am really happy with it. I had to just barely grind out a little on the tab to make it fit better. Overall, the look, power, sound, etc is all there. Can't beat it for $320 shipped IMO.

Are those 'race' baffles worth any power or do they just make the pipe louder?

It did for me, I had a flat spot and the baffel pretty much took care of it. Pulls real good up to red line now. Must have been a little rich.

My KZ650 Custom has a V&H and I like it. Sounds sweet and was an easy install.

I swear to God, it's like I live in a trailer of common sense, and stare out the window at a tornado of stupidity.

I try to jet my bike for running it with an open header and get the plugs looking the right color and then install the baffle. It richens it up but not enough too hurt performance. I've never had a problem doing it this way. I race my bikes from time to time and this saves lots of time and headaches but then, I'm not trying to wring every last HP out of it either.

I have a vance and hines street pipe on my kz 650, i love it to death, other than the rusting by the pipes on the collector and the blueing.....its a great pipe. Im swapping it out this winter for a kerker, my girlfriend bought me the kerker so that is the only reason....lol. I have a vance and hines sidewinder on the z1, i love that pipe to death it is so raspy and mean sounding. The is no rust on it yet......so im hoping for the best there. But the pipes turned a deep purple and blue the first time i rode it.

Unless you ride over 15 miles each time you ride, take the fiberglass out from around the baffle or it will hold moisture & rot the pipeout.

Oh man, I just love my V&H 4-1. Unfortunately, I never rejetted for them and they turned gold and blue, but I loooove the sound. Distinctively KZ! Didn't really need or care about the performance. When I first installed the headers, I had to start it up w/o the muffler. I just cackled with joy at the sound of it. :woohoo:

Oh, and oldkaws4ever,

my girlfriend bought me the kerker so that is the only reason

Got a new girl that likes bikes I see? :)
