So I know some of you guys have modded your sprocket covers. here is what I have comeup with so far. It's not finished yet .. as I am not sure if i should stop cutting now and just start the polish process or take out a little more meat here and there. What do you guys think?

Drew out the degign with a marker. drilled the corners with a 3/8 drill bit. I got a air powered body saw (sheet metal tool) .. with a new blade it took me about 20 minutes to rough cut it out. used my porting tool w/ 5 flute straight bit to finallize the shape. a rat tail file and bastard file to take out a few small flaws.
after removing the foam damper thingy behind the cover there was one mounting boss that I had the remove before I could make the holes. other than that... piece of cake. kinda opens up that area of the motor. Moving parts look cooler than shiny parts i think.

Hell yeah. I like your thought. "Moving parts looks better that shiny ones". I feel you on that one. Your giving me ideas for my 650 now. Don't worry I won't steal your design....

Feel free to use any ideas I got here... that is what these forum are all about.. new ideas. If I didn't want to share them I wouldn't post pics.. Thanks for the props though!! I gonna remove some of the casting flaws tonight and then start polishin.
As far as seen it on the bike... it's gonna be a while. Still got to build it. just doin up a motor right now.

I've seen that cover with holes drilled in it, I've seen it with drilled indentations that looked different and some that were scribed and/or etched with different designs but I like your idea much better. That should look cool once you get it finished. Doing anything to your other covers as a scheme or just that one cover?
