Yea, chain is the only way to go. Like on my goldwing, I miss the oil all over the frame/wheel/back, aligning the rear wheel, tightening the chain, stopping all the time on trips to lube. :) After I got the KZ1000ST, never again a chain for me.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

chain is the best for drag racing for a couple of reasons less weight, ability to change gearing to get the most out your engine less power loss from crankshaft to wear the rubber meets the road, but for the average street bike shaft drive is the bomb diggity in fact the next street ride i'm looking for is either a kz1100 or a kz1000st. for my little hotrod bike i go back and forth between different sprockets all the time when i want to act like a lunitic i put on a 39 tooth sprocket and when i'm taking a long trip i'll put on a 33 tooth. it a bunch of extra work but it's nice to have the option's.
