Slipping while in second gear

do like patton say's and do a proper adjustment on the pushrod back your cable off both at the lever and also half way down the cable then remove the small cover in center of the sprocket cover undo the lock-nut then tturn the adjuster in a few turns clockwise then turn it back out counter clockwise until it gets some resistance then turn it clockwise a 1/4 of a turn and tighten the lock-nut then readjust your cable until you have about an 1/8" of slack at the lever try that before you go replacing anything in all my years of running these bikes i have never had to replace a complete clutch pack in fact all of my plates that i use in my drag bikes are used and very well seasoned 20'000 plus miles on every one and the only time i replace themis when i break fibers.

If it is jerky "in and out" like you describe then the trans is probably the culprit. If it's a smoother, revving up like you are slipping the clutch then look at the clutch adjustments and the plates themselves.

Now you never said you lived in Chicago my hometown... A bunch of us get together and ride all the time. It would be nice to have another kz rider in the group. I have a feeling your second gear is shot but I could tell for sure if we get together for a ride and end your wonder once and for all.
