Are the Z1 and kz650 countershafts the same size and spline count? Trying to order offset sprocket. Thanks

Yes the 650 and the 900/1000 have the same size and spline count countershaft.
When converting from 630 to 530 chain on a 900/1000, you use the 650 countershaft sprocket.
Here is the page at Z1 Enterprises that shows using the 650 sprocket on a Z1 to convert to 530 chain.

Steell hit it right on the head (that's gotta hurt!), anyway, as long as you want to convert to a 530 chain, which is a good idea anyway, then you can use the 650 parts. I ordered both sprockets and a new chain from Jeff at Z1 Enterprises for the 530 conversion.

If you are looking for an offset sprocket for the bike listed in your sig, and you are going to use 630 chain, then you might take a look at a 83-85 GPz750 sprocket as they are offset about 5mm stock. If you are looking for one for 530 chain, let me know what you find as I'd like to have one to convert my GPz750 to 530 chain. A company called PB Sprocket (or something like that) used to make them, but my nephew bought the last two that I found.
I have been considering chucking the GPz750 630 sprocket in the lathe and cutting the center out of it, then doing the same to a 530 sprocket, and then welding the 530 sprocket on the offset center from the 630.
If I don't find one at a reasonable price, then I guess that's what I'll have to do.

The Gpz750 sprocket won't fit on a KZ750 motor, there isn't enough room for that and the chain. It will hit the clutch push rod. Already thought of that. But a new 630 chain wil cost more than the 3/8 offset sprocket from Kosman. They want $83, and its gettting close to that time of year!!!!!!! I am ordering mine today and I am cancelling the one from klasmo for $160.
