Plumen, Not to JACK, but since liners are "top-hat" affairs am guessing liner broke just below top of liner. even without traveling, compression could escape from sleeve thru cyl bore presurizing crankcase. I've never seen it, but figure its' possible, especially if a big bore kit has been installed and liner was thin. am hesitant to mention it, but have experianced when working on large (600cc singles)where liners have fallen out of cyls while cleaning in solvent tank.apparently only located by head gaskets when in "sittu", Liners, don't just "come Loose" They were an interfearance fit new, and bored after install to maximise heat transfer/roundness of bore at temp. one sleeve failure may/or not indicate future probs.at a minimum, owner is looking to a sleeve/bore hone& rings.for 1 hole. dollarwise it might be smarter to shoot fresh holes in a ebay cyl and re-ring (if my guess on O/S is correct) again. I may be full of s===t. thoughts? g
