Not to cause hate & discontent, but. I check clearances annualy, even tho bike seldom see's more than 4k annually., still, by prepping valve cover w/yamaha bond 4 and lightly prepping cyl head w eng/oil, find that valve cover gasket /bits are intact after impact for inspection.even if failed, allows cleaning on bench instead of carving on head,anyone who's spent hours scraping head for valve cover gasket will understand. Also, if your bike is worn and tends to blow out cam end plugs due to crankcase pressure, installing cam end plugs inside out will insure placement until you can fix. yar, I was young and broke too.a G
