Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Much easier to remedy than a bent valve...check the condition of the orings in the exhaust ports which seal the head pipes to the cylinder head. Good luck.

 It is a bit loud for a bike with pushrods and since it has OHC I think your have a exhaust valve issue on your #1 or #2 cylinder.. Too much gap or not seating 100%?

I couldnt see any exhaust in your vid. I thought at first, like you that the sound your hearing was coming from the valve train, then I noticed one of my split collars wasnt seated.

I'm hoping exhaust leak as well. It's got 8 brand new Kibblewhite stainless steel valves, was vaccum checked after recutting the seats - it definately can't be a bent valve.

The builder gave me a list of clearances. 6 are .004 and two are .005 - spec for I/E are the same .002-.006.

It has to be an exhaust leak. C'mon 5 o'clock I want to get home and find out!!!

Nope used new ones. And actually through my excellent rapport with Rob @ Z1Ent., and him asking at one point if I was doubling up the copper crush OEM type gaskets as I had asked for 8 - he recommended I get the model shown below instead as it is 5mm thick instead of 3mm.

I do have two more full sets of the thicker, and if I find the leaking pipe, I will double it!
