I drove to oklahoma to Eugenes house and picked up his two bikes. One LTD and one "81" "J".
There was a MarkII engine on the "J" bike and we were puzzled over that fact. After i drove down to Texas and visited with a couple of friends i was out early drinking coffe and checking the bikes out and i noticed the Mark II engine was just sitting in the frame with only the long back bolt holding the engine in.
The bike had been run that way and the bolt was bent pretty bad.
Any who i ended up with two Mark II engines and enough parts to pay for the bike and the trip.
I got to visit with a friend i served with in the Army and flew home with when we were discharged. i haven't seen him in 15 years.
I also got to visit with a friend from my home town. I haven't been to his house in a year and a half.
1400 miles later and i am home with my engine shortage solved.
