- One Test Is Worth A Thousand Expert Opinions!
looks like this week im going to have to take some measurments. and a trip to the junk yard.
It might be a good time for a "field trip" or a "treasure hunt". This is how good inventions come to be. Good luck, I hope you find something useable.

Atleast not on the street. A lok up on the track and sliders, but a SLIPPER ? What have I been missing?
Wouldn't the correct way to solve this problem [rear tire loosing traction] be to get the correct compound rubber/tire or maybe look into the suspension? I am just not compreheneding I guess? I would say be serious about what type of riding you do, weather is a definite consideration, and buy the correct tire.
Seems simple to me ?
But I am always learning also.
I just don't see the need.
Just my thoughts, no offense meant.

I know what you mean and I'm not sure either, BUT - these are very common on road race motorcycles and now factory bikes too, so it's probably safe to assume that the obvious stuff has been taken care of. I think the main idea is to be able to slow down really fast before a turn without locking up the wheel. All of the things you mentioned would help this but a slipper clutch helps even more. You can still use the engine as a brake very aggressively but won't lock your rear wheel. At least I think that's the idea...:S

When riding my KZ, I have dumped a couple of gears coming into a corner and had the back end side step on me. I could have prevent this by slowing down earlier, but to make time it was the only way. Good luck with your search.
If you install a slipper clutch, I hope you don't have to bump start the bike!
