First of all welcome to the forum Paul I think you will enjoy the madness here. The short answer to your question would be what doesn't fit? The 650 can be fitted with all kinds of parts from the 550's (trans, wheels, ignitions) 750's (cams, cylinders, exhausts, carbs, charging systems, suspensions etc.) 900/1000/1100's (carbs, suspensions etc.).

I don't know what set of rules you are racing under but the 650 can use parts from a ton of different bikes and there is a lot of aftermarket stuff available for them as well. You might want to check out this thread for a couple of reasons. One to see what some of the people here have done to their 650's and two it has been a while since anyone here has kicked Bad Kaw in the nads over the lack of a Kz650 in his stable. You will understand better after looking at the thread. kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...imit=20&limitstart=0

Hi Gringo
I see what you mean about the different threads.as to what i can use in my race bike is anything from 76 to 82.i can even use gp stuff if the bike had been sacntion raced thru Kawasaki.as it stands now i have a gpz750 frt end & wheel w/brake system and rear swinger w/wheel and brake system, dyna ign,3 ohm coils, solo seat, custom rear sets.i have to have my son come over to show my how to put up pic's so i can show every one how i took a very clean one owner stock bike into a race bike.when i get that done then i can show you what it looked like after my 120mph crash at race i had last Sept 08.two broken wrist's 5 fractured ribs,r.h thumb broke the scaffiode bone.that hold's your thumb in place.but at the end of the day alls good got up and walked away.but had the wife drive me to the hospital.shit happens.but as soon as i get the pics i will post them.thanks take care.thanks for your assisstance Gringo.
Regards Paul

Not sure about your' club, But local (MRA) for vintage class, the only requirement was cases and frame had to agree.classes were up to 600 cc then above. check what your' clubs requisites are. If your' going to be classed w/ liter bikes, relax, build a reliable stocker and go have fun. believe me, you will. you'll find that suspension and techinique offer more than engine mods. That being said, Wisco offered 720 and 780 kits at one time, and 29 smoothbores can be coaxed into stock intakes. K&N's and anyones 4-1 sheds a few pounds. tho if you can find CV's to fit, are often better than 29's. luck G

Just wanted to say thanks to Gringo for the insite.and as soon as i get those pics you will see them ok Mark. and also to say thanks to Rstnick for posting those pic's that i didn't even knew existed.also Rob when you were at Mosport last year you were at Steve's in the pits if you were to have looked due west i was across from Steve on the other side.where all those trailers were.right beside Mario Andretti's long straight away.i will diffenately be there again this year.thanks again guys.also gane in our rules and regsyou are only alowed 5% of the max cc size in your class which is 750cc so that is way i was looking for just a little bit of omph for my ride.thanks.
