I've always done mine in the shop's solvent tank. and have never tried this. But evaluate.... cut all but the bottom 5-6 inches off a 5 gal. plastic bucket. it should deform enough to allow 2 or 3 cyls to sit inside.and still allow a inch or so clearance below liners. by putting a couple inches of solvant in bucket, each perpendicular stroke of hone would wet & carry to cyl being honed. cheep/relativly clean, and pan is convenient for future oil changes. i can see your madness...then hold the cyl firm between ankles and stand direct over it..like mixing thinset/mortar with a drill in a buckett????HMMMMMMgane wrote:

if your just honing to redo the crosshatch and get rid of the glaze it wont take that many strokes to get a good finish with a ball hone so just hold it with one hand and stroke with the other. wow does that sound bad, you guy's are so right every thing a guy says on here has some potential dosent it. all i ever do is shoot a bit of wd-40 or some kind of lube in the hole and run the cordless in and out about 5or 10 good strokes then im done, god that sounds so bad. then make sure you wash it really good with a toilet brush and hot soapy water, until it comes clean. this is really starting to get out of hand. i'm spent
