Valve shims question

just for the hell of it I took a legal envelope, cut a pc of poster board to fit and a strip of duct tape. 2 shims (290's) are less than 2 oz on my postal scale thats a whooping 59cents postage. up to 3.5 oz is still only 95cents, that is 3 shims. I think if they are secured with duct tape they would make it to about anywhere in the US at least.
if the site had a spreadsheet deal with your name and what shims you are willing to trade and what you may be looking for. Someone looking for a particular one would pm you and make the trade.
I would be willing to bet NO ONE on this site would hose someone else. There would be no "selling" of shims just a nice friendly helping each other out deal.
has potential anyway.

naw, just tape them to a poster board and ship 1st class, anything under 1oz is 42 cents.

The envelope will be too thick and will require additional postage. It isn't only weight. I think there is an automatic sorter the envelopes get routed to and if it kicks it out, it requires the added postage. I have had a few returned to me because they were too thick when I was sending in for rebates and had to send the cardboad UPC seal cut off the carton of oil.
Another thing: the post office uses mechanical stampers that crush small items in a standard envelope. I had that happen a couple of times as well. I think you would need to use one of the small padded envelopes to send metal shims if you don't want them to get mangled.

sounds like your giving that poor bike an enema.motion pro makes a really good set of sync sticks that are reasonably priced there is the pro model and also a dyi model for home use. give that a try.
Yes indeedy, would most definitely sync the shims. :woohoo:
