Note that no one mentioned that if the bottom end on this thing is a MK II type, the crank sprocket won't much like the cam sprockets on Z1 cams. Also, any rebuild should include ALL NEW cam chain and associated parts.
Nope the motor is a 74 z1 900 not an MK II type;) . Im not adding any more power, so i didnt think a new chain was needed, and it was a really quiet motor, so i think the cam chain parts are ok, but when i tear into it i will know for sure, if it needs replacing, i will replace it. Thanks

Very good chance if the head is original that the guides would be shot.

The head came off of a 7000 mile bike, would the guides be shot already? Maby next winter i will send the head to ya guys for a full rebuild. Thanks
