Years ago people tried Extrude Hone on cylinder heads. We got some in the shop for valve work, and in every case, the media had hollowed out the bowl area undermining the seat on the long side radius. In other words, that stuff doesn't like to turn corners.
I guess it works well on some applications like automotive fuel injection manifolds, etc. But not cylinder heads.

yes that is true, it's great on intake manifolds [cars] at least it makes them look pretty, it is next to impossible to control it will take material out where you dont want it removed and leave it where you do want it removed.

I have a brand new NOS, it was in the wrapper and the box until I opened it, cylinder head I plan to use in the rebuild. After I get it running right I will start to get all the parts to build it up. I have read alot about the 810 kits and might go that path. I ran my engine program for a Honda 750 with ported heads, 10.25:1 pistons, high lift cam, 32mm carbs and the bore/stroke of an 810. It says it should just about make 115hp at about 9500 to 11500! I have ported chevy and ford heads with kits you buy that have templates in them. I have not found any templates or anyone in town to port my head for me. I read on the dual plug head and was wondering if it is worth the trouble to do. So far I have a kz650c1 and can buy a kz650d1 and 81kz750 parts bikes. I would like to have less than $1000 in the rebuild and mods so I would like to do all the work I can myself. I plan to run water injection and a oil cooler. A drag cb750 that was bored and stroked to 915 is making 140 to 160 on the dyno depending on fuel. I plan to only use full power in short burst as the engine is air cooled.
