larry that article is wrong. advancing the intake does not increase top end power, it increases bottom end at the sacrofice of top end power. Alternatly retarding the intake increases top end power. That article screwed me up for awhile, and some others too.

Ok,so with my set-up(410 cams with adjustable sprockets, dialed in to APE's cam specs) what would I have to do to get more mid-range torque?
I know I would sacrifice top end.
What degree, and would I be retarding both cams,or just the intake?

I ask this because I'm thinking of playing with it.
I have the Dale Walker cam degreeing kit, btw.

Thanks.B)

advance intake 2deg, recheck valve to piston clearance. Dale walker told me it takes 3deg. diff. for the dyno to notice the diff. Thats probly true, but were riders not dynos.. you will notice

I do have web 0.395 quite near yours 0.410. Running lobes at 104,5 intake and 108 exh. This set up gives lots of torque and still revs to 11.000 but not fast...
1,5 degrees is a huge difference, at least my experience!
have run with 107 and 108 lobes and it didn't do so much more to 7.000 rpm but whe hitting 8500 it went as lightning to 11.000rpm
Go for the torque! 11.000rpm in 4 th gear is SCARY on a kz900
