I want to get my sprockets slotted i am in new mexico but can sen them priority mail. thanks

1978 kz 650b with gpz faq mods cams carbs polished and ported
1979 gs750e
1972 bsa lightning under construction

Any machine shop can slot the sprockets for you, and I know there are a lot of machine shops in New Mexico.

So you would think right. Whens the last time youve been to new mexico? I have been to three machine shops and they didn't even know what i was talking about these are farm machinist around here.Another quoted me a 100 dollars to get them slotted

Get a Dremel tool and do it yourself. Check the advertisers on here, some might sell them too

I can do it. Draw a print of what you want and send them over. Shoot me a PM or email.

There has never been a demand for the 650s so we have never made them.

Have slotted some years ago and they are very hard. Need to use a carbide end mill.

Carbide is one way. Wire EDM is another . :cheer:

Just curious...Why would you go to the expense and time to put slotted cam sprockets in the bike?
Unless you have other major performance parts in the engine you're really not going to notice any improvement in the engine.
When you degree the cams you're not adding any power only moving it to a different RPM range.

*1977 1000, 1975 KZ998 LSR bike.
