this is why I love this forum so much. I have the same problem with my kz1000p. so this weekend I will try the powder. I cleaned it with gunk engin brite and will do the powder thing. was not aware of checking the tach sender.
why would improper exhaust pipe half moons or shims cause an oil leak?? and would the tach leak cause oil in my right side pipe .. I have 2into1 on each side.
I built this as a bobber so now the turd thinks its a harley and went into perma-defective mode.after all 95% of all harleys are still on the road,,, the other 5% made it home...
the oil in my exhaust pipe made me think head gasket. will plugging the breather show a head leak too???

Plugging the breather WILL show up seepage from the tach drive ,cam cover gasket and cam end plugs AND all the little seals and gaskets around your engine .
NOT where there is compression .
And I always use the ladies pit spray ,,,,
Makes the bikes smell sexy ,
