ZR-7, GPZ, z750

hey gringo what size dia is the pipe where it goes into the muffler, i just won one one fleabay and i plan on cutting off that muffler flange and using my kerker slip-on. p.s. you need more kz's akrons about a hour away nice too know spare parts are available close to home:)

Yes it will. But the zr7 exhaust is much heavier.

The zr7 motor will fit the kz frame, but you have do so some playing with motor mounts to get the correct alignment.

Thanks for the info, JWP993, but did you notice that nobody has posted to this thread in more than ten years? I'm not sure that any of these guys hang around here anymore, so you may not get any responses frm them.

In reference to the topic post, when looking into the swap-ability myself a while ago, I was surprised to see that the ZR750 engine was only 75 hp. I think the KZ750 / ZX750 are about the same.

I know I’m digging up an old topic but I find it of interest. 
I'm posting a link to a review of the '82 GPZ750. Inside you’ll find the engine specs and where Kawasaki got the power for the engine. You can use this data to compare it to the specs of the engine in the newer ZR7/ZR7S.
For starters, the ZR7 uses CVK32mm carbs compared to the Mikuni 34mm of the '82 model.
The compression ratio on the ZR7 is 9.5:1, same as the '82 750.
I don’t know if Kawi continued the mild port job on the newer engines or much else about the internals such as cam specs but I’m assuming the pistons are the same.
The 1982 dyno'd at 65rwhp. My seat-o-the pants says my 2001 ZR7S does too, or darn close.
