What should I do with my 76 900ltd?Im going to do the topend,I have a 1015 block punched to 1200 by mtc,but since a 900 ltd and their a little rare,I kinda hate to remove the 908 block, thens its not original.Ive thought about a 1045 kit with cams,I have 29's also, but I may go with some 34's or 36's.What would you do?

Well tullymars...it depends on what you want...it is, above all, your scooter, and of all the bigbore LTD's, the most desirable is the 900B model. If you want to be a collector and maintain a bit of motorcycle history, keep the bike as stock as possible. Once you make major changes, it usually is a oneway road. If, on the other hand, it pleases you greatly to hotrod your Z, then hotrod it...how's that for a non-answer?

use the 903 block and poke it out for bigger sleeves theyre meatier than 1015 blocks,or pull your origional motor and keep it in corner and build differant motor:whistle: goodluck, happy wrenching!

I think the LTD looks great as a stock bike. But I honestly love all stockers. It just takes me back. If you're looking for resale, than I think a stocker will be worth more. You won't get most of your investment back if you mod it, so if that's your plan, do it because you enjoy the work, and will like riding it when your done.
I have to admit, after seeing some of the rides on this site, I can't help wondering what mine would be like with some drop in cams, maybe a 1015 kit, and some 28mm's. Subtle, yet terrifying.

Just a little off topic here guys.

But does the stocker sentiment hold true for all bikes? I've been thinking of doing some work on my 440 (all original).

Later,

Durare

My issue with LTD's is the 16" backwheel. What sort of good sporty rubber is available for that size? Is an LTD worth the mods if it overpowers the 16" tire? If so, is it better to keep it closer to stock?

What year is your LTD? (you're supposed to have that stuff in your signature!)

according to zedder they only made 3000 (1000LTDs) in '82 just to give you something to think about.

zedder.com/msgs.htm

wireman has a great idea too, best of both worlds.

"...pull your original motor and keep it in corner and build different motor..."

The 1977 KZ900B2 was also produced. The bike pictured could be either a 76 or 77. I think they both had the red paint schemes.
