I don't know if this should go in the carb section or engine section but here's the deal:

My bike will idle when warmed up and runs fine but when I rev it up and come to a stop sign/light, the bike rpms will drop and the engine will shut off(about half of the time).

Let me also mention that I have to leave the choke on just a hair for the bike to run/idle/stay running. I'm guessing that when I open up the trottle significantly, the choke is being pulled open all the way and therefore the bike shuts off.

I thought this was due to the fact that I didn't have an air filter (to give more drag and eliminate the need for the slight use of the choke) but I installed one and still the same problem. Any thoughts?

leaky intake boots or a vaccume leak somewhere, the carb holders/boots/rubber intake runnder dry out and get cracked after a while then they suck in air.

z1enterprises carries them for 50$ +s for a whole set.

Well, I recently ordered some new carb holder boots so I maybe that will help out. Would it matter if the boots coming from the airbox were a little leaky?

"Would it matter if the boots coming from the airbox were a little leaky?"

Only in that the air that leaked into the intake at the airbox side boots would be unfiltered.
