Cam cover end cap interchangability. was created by tjettim
On the rubber end caps on the head, yhat the
cam cover seals against, are any models,1000,
650,750,interchangable? If so how about a KZ1000
to a 1984 Honda 650 nighthawk? Honda wants 18
bucks a piece for them, and nobody else lists any.

i dont know about interchangability but can you clean up the ones you have and glue them back in with a little clear silicone? ive also seen a honda section on z1 enterprises site, not sure how much he has but it might be an option for ya

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

All KZ550, 650, 750 fours use the same plug. Z1, KZ900, KZ1000 up through 1980 use a larger plug. KZ1000 and 1100 from 1981 up use a different plug yet. As if Honda will fit any of them I would highly doubt. These plugs should be everywhere for $5-$10 each.
I'll mention again gluing on old hardened worn out rubber is not a long term fix, trust me. Just replace them.

Neither of the above webites list gaskets for a 83-85
650 Nighthawk.I will need to take them out and compare
them to a KZ1000 plug I guess.I was hoping someone out there had aready made the swap.

Get these aluminum Klasmo ends and never have a problem again. Plus at $40 a set, are cheaper than OEM. They look cool in anodized silver, blue or red. Contrary to what everyone says about RTV, you do need the silicone to seal these, but just a small bead as not to squeeze out into the cam galleys to start plugging up stuff in your engine. <
