gpz1100 head
04 Jan 2006 15:30
Will an '82 gpz1100 head fit on the 76 bottom end?.. I know the 84 will...

yes it will fit,
it will need the same modifactions the 84 head needs to work on the 76 bottom end.

I'm pretty sure only the 81 GPZ had the injectors in the ports but I haven't got my workshop manual handy to check.

Bob,
I know the cam gears/chain are diffrent between the kz and the gpz as well as the cam chain tensioner. I can get those parts from APE. What else needs modifing?

only the 81 GPz1100 had the ports in the head. don't forget going to that head will drop your compression about 2 points I think it is.

No, the J model and early GPZs will also drop the compression with KZ style pistons.
