As for the roll over trick, yeah, I know that one, thats when I say I'm too hot and go out to the garage and sit on the bike.
Since this is a Engine forum, I will go ahead and throw an engine question in here. Is $150 a good price for a 750 engine, condition unknown? Dreaming about that 810 someday.

That brings me at exactly 5k at 70mph in 5th.
Virii, not sure about the 77 but al 650's had 16/42 stock gearing? I'm at 6,000 at 70, if your doing 5,000 at same speed your gearing is not stock?

Voltages Hope this turns out to look like a chart
.........before ......before......after
.........at battery...at coil.....at coil
Key off,,,,12.82,,,,,,,0,,,,,,,,,,,0
Key on,,,,12.45,,,,,,,10.48,,,,,,,12.23
ideling,,,,,12.59,,,,,,,11.00,,,,,,,12.47
rev,to,4k,,13.75,,,,,,,12.53,,,,,,,13.75
So looks like voltage to coil has improved.
On to checking timing.
I read another post after doing a search about how to time it. I tried to get the line next to the F to line up with the line on the case, things bounce around a lot so it's close. Then set 2&3 by adjusting right hand side point. It's idling a little slower now but not sure it has changed much performance wise. The advancer is moving to the 4 at 4krpm.
Well, I'm outta money, have to work 12hr shifts next 4 days so I wont be doing much with the bike.

Aaron, doesn't sound like yours is running too bad, but check everything over and I'm sure she'll run better.

As for tools, I think Napa is having a sidewalk sale, they do that don't they? Gotta get a timing light to keep the washing...I mean dryer tuned up.
Yes! Keep the facts straight and be confident in your answers. Or build on the idea that she is getting flaky and forgetful. That one takes time but *ahem* I "hear" it's useful.
I'd recommend a feeler gauge while you're at it but they're dirt cheap.

I don't know. I think so. Doesn't make me want to cry, at least. If nothing else, you could get probably plenty of good parts from it if you ever need. I'm a pack rat, though and I'm always looking for some sort of good deal.
So...how is it running now that you've had more time with it?

I definately have 42, can't recall what I put up front but I *thought* I was back where I started. I've got sprockets all over the place, thought. Found that they cost next to nothing at Z1enterprises so went over the top. It was my first order and it's like a candy shop...
