I'm going thru a friend's set of TK26's('82-'83 GPz550) and he was told there already is a stage 3 jet kit inside. I know what is supposed to be in my TK27's('84-'86 GPz550), as that what I have in mine, but the jetting is different than the TK26's. If anyone out there in KZRider Land has the information sheet that comes with it, or knows what the settings are(etc.), please let me know here.

Thank you in advance.

I finally got the information needed. '82-'83 GPz550's running the K26V carbs, have a Stage 3 Setting of the following:
-Main Jet 110(from stock of 86. All other jets remain stock).
-Slide Needle clip on 2nd from top.
-Drilled offset slide hole enlarged(what drill size, I have no idea yet. ) :S
-Mixture screw 3.5 turns out.

There are two main jets in the '82-'83 K26V carbs, a primary and a secondary. The TK27's on the '84-'86 only have one main jet. Different beast.
The KZ550 M1 & F1 have the TK-K26V, have only one main jet as well.

Thanks for reading.:)

Corey,

You have documented your work well on ImageStation. That will be a great resource for anyone performing similar work or even needing a reference, with or without the Jack!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Good job and nice bike.

Thanks. B)

That was my first pictorial debut, and it's for the '84-'86 bikes. I'd recommend doing a pictorial to anyone rebuilding something for the first time. Nice to see what others are doing, and what's involved.

The kit says the slide drill size is 7/64". Is that what you used?

Also, is the image on the PDF cut? The figure A shows the center hole for the needle. That would lead one to believe that the center hole needs to be drilled, but shouldn't it be the offset hole?

Dave's Carbs don't look like the off-set hole has been drilled. When he gets them from me at work Friday, I'll have him get a 7/64" drill bit, and make sure they're drilled. It's not the center hole that gets drilled out Lou, but from the picture you'd think so.

I'm just wondering if that PDF diagram is cut-off where you can't see the offset hole. On another diagram, I recall seeing an arrow pointing to the offset hole.

I was wondering that myself. The '84-> Gpz550 Stage 1 & 3 in my signature, states using a #32 Drill Bit, and the picture shows the off-set hole to enlarge but I don't know the inch conversion. I don't have the remainding Stage 1 from my kit to measure it. Sent it to another GPz Owner a few years back.

I'd hate to see people drill the center hole :pinch:

That link from Neil won't work for the 81 kit, (I posted in the other forum).

I e-mailed Dyno jet, and let them know that Adobe Link doesn't work. If they forward a copy to me, I'll post it here and on GPz550.com for all.
