ZR-7 exhaust on KZ700

In this topic I showed the work in progress of putting a ZR-7 exhaust on my KZ700.
To avoid hijacking that topic any further, I thought I should start a new one.
In the last few weeks I have been busy to change some parts of my KZ.
I have changed the swingarm for a better looking one. The old one was rusty and had some holes in it. Also the bearings were completely shot...
I also changed the chain and sprockets to a new 525 chain and 16-43 sprockets.
The clutchcable was also on the to-do list.
But the main reason I started this topic is the exhaust. Recently I won a complete Kawasaki ZR-7 exhaust on eBay. Some days later I also won a nice looking muffler, so I could start putting it on my KZ700.
Yesterday evening I finally put the last bits on the bike, and I fabricated a hanger to secure the muffler.
This is how it looks now:

The sound is awesome. It's really different from the sound of my old exhaust (Marving). It sounds like a completely different bike!
The only problems I encountered were the exhausthanger, centrestand and oil-lines.
The centrestand will not fit anymore because it hits the exhaust.
I had to bend the oillines backwards to keep them from touching the balancepipes on the new exhaust.
I wanted to make a nice hanger to the standard connection at the footrestplate, but there is not enough room to make a nice hanger, so I had to strap it to the top of the rearspring. Looks a bit daft, but it works.
I'll try to make a small video of it as soon as possible. So you all can enjoy the awesome sound it makes....
And here it is:
The sound is a bit crappy, just imagine it being loud and mean!

Thanks!Wow......pipe looks killer on there! Might I suggest a wee dab of paint on the hanger??
Painting the hanger black is a good suggestion! Maybe I will do that.
Everyone should have a look at this:

Hi Gringo,That does sound and look good. I've been thinking about doing the same with my 750 L3 but it looks like you have to lose the rear passenger peg, is that correct? The other thing that is making me hesitate is that stock exhaust weighs a ton, easily 3 times what the Kerker that is on it now weighs. I plan on using the ZR7 exhaust somewhere but now I'm thinking about possibly putting it on my 77 650 C-1 I'm not sure yet.
You are right about the passenger pegs. It's not possible to mount them in the original location on the right side of the bike. There is not a lot of space to mount them. For me this wasn't a real problem. I usually don't take passengers with me.
The system does weigh a lot, but that is not a real problem for me, I'm not so heavy..
What made me decide to use this system are two reasons :
- It's made of stainless steel. So no more rusty old looking exhaust.
- This article stating it has a positive effect on the powercurve most aftermarket headers don't have...
A third reason could be that it looks really good!:woohoo:

Nice! :woohoo:
It looks really good on your bike! (Is it the 650?)
I can't really see it on the picture, but what have you done with the centerstand, passenger pegs, and exhausthanger? Is the engine running better with the new exhaust?

It was also sold in the US, but it's a fairly new bike, so maybe that's the reason there are not so many second hand parts for sale...Is the ZR-7 a Euro model? I've been looking on ebay for the exhaust parts but only pull up a few items for zr7 or zr7s.
Over here in Europe there have been a few exhausts on eBay in the past three months or so. But before that almost a year went by without even a damaged ZR-7 exhaust...
