On the Z1 site, in the picture provided, I can only see one washer for this model:

Curious... is there more than one supplier? This seems to be made by APE.

That one looks like steel. Others I've seen are billet. Maybe the ones with a steel pusher only need the washer on the pressure plate side?

My pusher is totally flat and made of steel and the hardware bolts to the pressure plate. I just hope it's OK with one washer:S

Hopefully Jeff or Ape Jay will chime in...

I'm going to guess that the washer goes between the pressure plate and the needle bearing. Since your pusher is already steel, it makes sense to me.

Look again at that picture...there is one washer already ON the unit, and another one laying BESIDE the unit.

Make sure that the pusher doesn't contact the boss that supports the thrust bearing. If it does then another washer should be placed on the boss between the thrust bearing and the pusher.

Good eye Sandy! That puts a serious dent in my "one washer might be OK" theory! I'm nearly positive that mine has had only one washer since it was installed 20 years ago. I wish I had thought of checking into it BEFORE it put everything back together!!
