Oh yeah, I've known for some time exactly what that fitting looks like, hahaha! You can get 'em from Klasmo or American Classix, but of course I want to either find one cheap or make my own...

the banjo fitting is easy, they are everywhere, but the return fitting is pretty much made of unobtainium:P
From looking at it, it looks like it just restricts oil flow so it has time to actually cool off in the cooler. why couldnt someone just drill the stock plug part way, thread the hole(pipe thread), and drill a small hole the rest of the way. thread a regular pipe end into it attached to the return line and it should work the same right? Im thinking about trying this instead of making the fittings shown

Bandit, you can wrap them on with thin masking tape (one wrap)it will just burn and fall off or you can also (thanks to someone here on KZR)use rubber band on each pipe with same results. P.S. love the 340, built? aqnd how do you keep your frame so shiny?

Actually, no. The special fitting stops one oil passage and diverts the flow from another passage to the cooler.

Why not do it the easy way and just use the GPz750 oil pan??
They must be pretty common, since I have 3 or 4

I have that set up mounted on my ZN700. It works great, and looks like it's OEM from Ma Kaw!
I'm just waiting for two o-rings that I special ordered to show up and will also have the same set up mounted on my KZ650 too.

So, is there some sort of thermostat built into this? I would think that until the oil temperature reaches 220 deg F or higher, that it shouldn't be routed through the cooler otherwise condensation won't be evaporated.
Just a thought.

you have a good point, some kits do have a thermostat, but higher output motors make a lot more heat, so they would get up to temp faster than a stock bike not movingSo, is there some sort of thermostat built into this?
