gpz750 cams marks
03 Mar 2007 13:00
Putting the cams from a gpz in my kz750e head today and I noticed that the timing marks for the cams chain alignment is different for the kz and the gpz. Would that be head specific, or cam specific? i.e. which do I use for my situation? Thanks fellas.

Bdog - get your hands on a digital camera and post some pics of the cam timing marks on each of the cam sprockets. This will help us advise you on the set up difference if any.

The head makes no difference, but after perusing the 750 Factory Service manual I can find no reference saying to use the Z6ex for the GPz. The supplement for the 83-85 GPz750 just refers to the standard KZ750 cam installation pages that say use the Z7ex.
What manual are you using, and where do you see this?

The supplement in the klymers manual, says z6ex (gpz), and the regular manual says z7ex (kz),and I thought I will go with the fact that I see a notice about the notches on the camshafts need to point to one another. Thus the z7ex lines match up.
