Got pics...?

...preferably close ones, of a V&H 4-1 where the collector meets the muffler?? Have cut the bad bent section out and got some welding done....but need pics to see if the collector is "centered" where the pipes meet, or offset for clearance, or what. Ad pics arent much help. Thanks in advance.....mods feel free to move if this is wrong forum.....

Where would we move it to??

Its rough looking right now...just tacked here and there until I KNOW if the collector is centered....that being said, once its all together (and it doesnt look like *ss!), will throw up some pics. Hmm.....maybe shoulda said will post some pics......

Well....slow going but this what i got after about 4 tries so far. LOTS of re-cutting, re-measuring, and eyeballing for fit. But heck, 'twas easy ANYBODY could do it....right? Keep in mind pieces are just TACKED and not ready for the "pretty-test"....

Seems like the most common way to make a collector would be to use a large cone-shaped piece and crimp it down to fit around the pipes, and a + shaped piece to go between them.









Very expensive racing systems use four identical pipes, bend them all the same, cut them all to fit, then weld the pieces together:



If I were in your shoes I'd probably go the easy route and make it a 4 into 2 into 1 system using three Y connectors.

Actually, I'd probably just adapt one of these .

1st choice was to cobble up another collector....but couldnt find at local bike boneyard... Thought of the "wrap pipes in sheetmetal" approach....but no way to heat metal and hammer into submission. Hesitant to use anything thin enough to form just by hand....thoughts on that, anyone? The ones on the website look pretty cool and JUST what i need....am gonna investigate prices.....thanks for that heads-up.
