That looks about right, chop off the integral exhaust manifold, and fab up your own. buy some aluminum tubing and make a nice blow through systemI bet you could make one of these work!

Not fond of turbos Ron? What did you have on your 650? It doesnt sound like it was the proper one for the application.
I don't remember much about it, but it was supposedly made just for the KZ650. This was many years ago, I think 1981. All I remember was trying to mount the stupid single metal inlet plate (whatever it's called across all four intakes on the head and finding it would not seal because the plate was not perfectly flat. A few days sanding the plate flat manually solved that problem, then it ran pretty good once boost set in which was about 5 seconds lag at 9000 rpms. I used that turbo for a "long" time on that bike, all of 1 week maybe, before I was very happy to get the piece of crap off there. Not being smart by that point I always lusted for a Z1R-TC so bought one of them with only 800 miles on it. I sold it with maybe 850. Enough of this crap, I'll keep my turbo diesel, never again on gas, just doesn't work at all.
It's really not the turbo probably to blame, it's all aftermarket garbage, and yes, that's what it all is is garbage. Anything add on never fits or works right ever. I always laugh at these sunday morning car and truck shows where they add this crap and it works. Wonder how?

the stock gpz750 turbo works quite wellI don't remember much about it, but it was supposedly made just for the KZ650. This was many years ago, I think 1981. thats funny, the aftermarket stuff Im familar with always works fine. I bet the car and truck show guys get their stuff to work because: 1 they are trained professionals. 2 they have the best tools. 3 they know which products are good, and which are the "garbage products" you seem to have had the bad bad luck of getting in the pastIt's really not the turbo probably to blame, it's all aftermarket garbage, and yes, that's what it all is is garbage. Anything add on never fits or works right ever. I always laugh at these sunday morning car and truck shows where they add this crap and it works. Wonder how?

Perhaps they know what they are doing, and you don't.
