A Harley and a Kaw!

- TURBO, Its Better to be Blown than Injected
Harley has been to Arizona and back to Michigan with the Mrs on the back in total comfort..
As much as I truly Love my Kaw , I wouldn't have tried that same trip.
Now the Turbo Kaw is for sport riding of 100 or 200 miles at a time , or showing off with at bike events
The Kaw always gets more attention than my Harley , but it's one of a kind anymore and no one ever talks shit about it. Even the 1 percenters and other M/C members like to talk about the good old days when we all started on muscle bikes and raised Hell of the street and strip. And they all remember clearly enough not to pick a fight with a Big Kaw no matter how much they have done to their Hog. LOL

Yeah, you could hit up Shelby Forrest and there is some good roads out in Lakeland,TN, which is only about 20 minutes from Memphis. Yeah, let me know what dates you'll be down here and I'd be more than glad to go riding!

...We definitely got clobbered! Lots of snow and really cold. One of the coldest ever recorded in NJ. Just hoping we get a little springtime in before the hot days of summer. Raining like all hell today. According to the forecast, I doubt I'll be riding to work at all this week. Figures.

...Hey, I've got a Harley and never knock anyone. There's just as many "other rides" out there that knock Harley's as Harley riders that knock "other rides." You wanna be considered a dick like them? Not me! If it's got 2 wheels, we're all bikers and all brothers...in my opinion. I don't wish to be one of the close minded dicks that think they're all the shit. I've had far more "other rides" than Harley's. But, I like them just as much. In a different way, but I still like them. I feel bad for those with tunnel vision. They don't know what they're missing. Bike wise and friend wise!

i have a road king i use for long distance comfort.
but when i am riding over to the dragstrip to watch the races,i always ride my z1r.
because ,lets face it people will walk through a sea of harleys to check out a cool old kawi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when i was young i remember a bunch of shit talking between jap and harley riders.
nowadays i don't notice it as much.
people seem to be alot more accepting in my experience.

...Hey, we have shoes for every occasion, why not bikes???
...You're definitely right on the talk in the old days. I think a lot of it was brought on by bike rags of the day. Instigating between the two factions at times. But, as you say, it's a lot different today. I know many people, like yourself, that have both. It all depends on your mood.

I have seen the HD guys give other HD guys crap about V-rods or Sportys too.
My comeback is always "You show me an 82 Shovel Head that is still all original w/ 30k miles that runs reliably." or "You have spent more money on those HD T shirts to sit in the bar and look tough in than I have spent on my entire bike and I'm at least putting miles on mine" They usually don't have a comeback, but its usually all in good fun.
I've met both jerks and nice ppl that ride rockets, metric, classics, HD and even mopeds! To each their own
I do think HD's are cool - I think their price is out of hand. I kind of feel for Harley though - they are trying to keep their image and their heritage, often times at the risk of technology advancements and maintenance/reliability. I do personally think that our old Kaws are better engineered and better built than even todays new Harleys. Many of my co-workers are rebuilding motors or replacing things that should not be breaking/wearing out with only 20-30k miles.
