Lower Wacker looks a whole lot smoother and cleaner than I remember it, no longer the green tunnel.
I hope we can hit a lot of those roads next weekend, are you going to be able to get some time off in the afternoon ?
If Saxjon and the Mad Duck make it you guys will probably end up ditching me though, that's OK I know my way around.
That curve when you leave Lower Wacker and get on the Congress is where I had a bad accident on my KZ650C in 78.
One of the guys that I was riding with hit some oil and went down, I crashed to keep from hitting him.
In hind site I should have ran the fucker over
Talk to you soon

Like you said, it used to be a tunnel of eerie green lighting, like you were under water or something. It was dark and full of huge potholes. The pavement was asphalt which made it darker, and slippery. Since it never gets rained on, the oil from cars never gets washed off.
I totalled a Datsun 260 Z under there coming up the Randolph exit back in 89. My friend broke a Datsun 280 Z in half under there around the same time. Another friend totalled a BMW 1100 GS under therearound 2000, and he is the best rider I've ever ridden with.
Like you said, it's oil on the pavement that suddenly pulls the rug out from under you. I remember drifting all 4 wheels of my Datsun on the exit curve to Congress. For some reason that ramps was always the worst.
But it seems clean down there for now, since the first half is new, and the second half was redone about 10 years ago.
I drive pretty slowly under Wacker. The video makes it look faster, but I was probably only going 40 at the fastest.

Thinking of picking one up OMR? I hope you do, so you can take us along for a for a ride on your badass KZ Would love to see yours in action.
Great clip Lou, my little brother use to live in that area. Had a condo across Wrigley field. Then had a couple of places in the Lincoln Park area. Now he's in Napervile.

The camera is a Motocomm Ridercam 480. That is a previous model. The current one is the Ridercam 720 (which is supposedly better).
The 480 is surprisingly better than I'd hoped. I've tried a cheaper brand and it made everything look like it was made of jello. My old camera has started to shut down by itself if you bring it anywhere near the bike (some RF filter must be going bad).
I'm using a piece of quick-release, bicycle seat-post, hardware as the mount. It just happened to fit.
