Hi everyone - it's almost time for the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio!

Vendors can start setting up on Thursday, 21 July, and the event opens to the public on Friday, the 22nd. I'm heading in on Thursday to help the VJMC set up in the infield area and then will be in the VJMC booth in the swap meet area from 11am-1pm on Friday and Saturday. Stop by and say hello! I'll try to wear a nametag or something.

With a little bit of luck I'll have the 1981 XT250 moving under her own power by then and can bring her along.

Who else is planning to go?

I’ll be there. Swap meet/spectating Thursday thru Saturday and corner working the road races on Sunday. Not bringing a KZ or GPz with me this year. I’ll be tooling around on a 1969 Trail 90 instead. Could get muddy.

Our usual house/dog sitter is out with health issues the remainder of this year.  We've struggled to vet & break in a new sitter, but believe we have that problem solved at the last minute.

We'll be there in our usual swap meet spot.

VJMC made the curious request that we bring one of our '93 CB750 Nighthawk's for the infield show, so likely it'll be slmjim's blue bike.  We'll be putting around on our trusty old yellow '78 Honda Hobbit moped, complete with fox tail on the flag shaft.

Yeah, NOAA's forecast for Wednesday says "Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall", then sunny and 85 on Thursday, 87 on Friday, and 91 on Saturday. If that's the case I probably won't stay too late on Saturday.

Interesting - I will keep an eye out for the blue bike, and will stop by your spot to bother you.

If the planets are aligned properly I'll be putting around on this:

If not, there is an RV90 reasonably close that would be a decent substitute (if we ignore the fact that I will be picking on a 90cc bike).

I'll be riding my V65 Magna there on Thursday, (about 500 miles). I'll be on the look out for VJMC. Is there a map of the swap meet area, which shows where each vender is located?

None that I’ve ever seen. It’s nearly impossible to make out the site numbers that are spray painted on the grass anyway. VJMC is usually located at the higher end of the swap meet (it’s essentially on the side of a hill), near the paved road. Second or third row in.

That's the VJMC swap meet site in the main swap area, in roughly the southwest-ish quadrant, manned by a rotating staff of VJMC volunteers along with a few bikes.  There is usually both a VJMC and Japanese flag flying over the VJMC swap site.  The Lovely Z1BEBE will be there assisting a couple of time during the event.

There is also a very large VJMC tent located in the infield area under which the main VJMC bike show is organized.  To get there, cross the bridge & immediately turn right at the bottom into the infield area; you'll see some food vendors soon as you turn in.  The VJMC tent will be ~100 yds. further in, along with a few other display areas & tents (area 17 on the facility map below)..

Link to map of the Mid-Ohio facility below.  Swap meet is in the large field labeled as "South Parking" area.  Can't miss it:

I recall seeing flags/signs at the ends of the rows that identify them. For example the VJMC swap meet location is in row Q, which (as you mentioned) is the second row in from the paved road.

A lot of those who are selling stuff appear to be small businesses and/or random people, like the ones who make and sell t-shirts of different marques. There is a lot of diversity.

Also if you make the rounds late on Saturday or - even better - Sunday morning you can make deals with people who don't want to carry their unsold stuff back home.
