Thanks for the links but I've already searched just about every catalogue I could find, I've come here as a last resort, I'm specifically after the very same extrusion in the picture I posted. I've seen it used on many swingarms but am struggling to find it....www.mcmaster.com/aluminum-extrusions/

I'm looking for stock, I'll bend it myself, that picture I posted is from Webike and they want 303USD for what you see. I just got off the phone to a major supplier here and they told me that it was probably a custom order, to use 6063 or 6060 T5, so I might just buy some 20mmx20mmx3mm radiused tube and mill a .5mm section out of it, I'm wanting that look. I always manage to make everything harder than it needs to be...!!!Are you looking for stock of aluminum extrusion, or are you looking for an extrusion that has been bent and formed into the U-shape of a brace?

I can't help you with alloy choice, other than to say that 6061 does not bend well in a sheet metal brake. The notes on the extrusions in the McMaster catalog say that 6063 and 6060 are both "easier to form than multipurpose 6061".

Yes, I thought i would be able to find it too. I know a guy that has a company that specialises in aerospace components, i'm going to ask him before I try and make it myself.I see. You want that outside detail. I would have thought that would be possible to find, but poking around the web it does look like it's a bit of a needle in a haystack. Everything seems to be either plain square extrusions, 80/20 type functional shapes, or weird window trim. It may be the case that someone somewhere has some stock of that, but I think you're right that it would probably take less time to machine plain square tubing yourself.

The early GSXRs used a tube profile like that. I don't know if it would be cheaper to cut up a frame to get the tube but its an option. sub-frame tubes are 20 x 25, main down tubes are 27 x 30. this is a proprietary alloy similar to 7005.
Funny you should say that, I actually have a 1988 GSXR1100J Frame {last of the slabby's}, I won't be cutting it up though, they are starting to fetch good money....
