I need to know if a seat from a kz750 b twin will fit on a 1980 kz750 g1 twin, I want to get rid of the g1 step seat and go with b era bench. . are the seat pan and hardware a direct fit? or will there have to be some fabrication?

I did a search & found this reply by steell: It is a direct swap, I had an 80 750G seat on my 79 750B, ....
If the swap works one way, then it should work the other. steel probably knows more about the 750 Twins than just about anybody around, so whenever you see any of his replies, your ears should perk up. also, Bountyhunter knows quite a bit about the big Twins.

From the diagram drawings at Partzilla & EB photos, they look the same & appear to have the same mounting hardware.
I didn't compare part numbers, but you can x-ref the parts & compare EB pics. or just follow steell's advice.
