Seat options for '79 KZ750

I can find replacement covers no problem and I think I'm skilled enough to install it myself.
But what I'd really like is an LTD style seat for my bike. One with a slight step up in the back for the pasenger.
What are my options here? I don't think they made a LTD seat for the '79 KZ750. And the seat pan isn't shared with any other models that I know of. It has a single hinge where I believe all the others are dual hinged.
Is my best bet to send the seat pan to someone and pay to have a whole new seat made, foam, cover and all? What's that likely to cost?
Or might I have any luck adding foam to my seat and stretching a cover from an LTD for a differnt bike? How similarly were the pan shape/sizes from differnt years?

The seams are starting to rip. If I could find a other (cover or complete seat) I would in a heartbeat, comfy seat.

martin_csr wrote: The 1980 KZ750-G Twin is an Ltd & has the stepped seat. It has the same hinge as your bike & the seat cover seems to be the same, so a seat from one of those might be a direct swap.
It is a direct swap, I had an 80 750G seat on my 79 750B, removed it after I converted the pegs to rearsets though, that step was right where my butt wanted to be

The chances of finding a 1980 750 G seat in good shape seem pretty slim, but I'll keep my eyes peeled. At least now I know that's an option.

As you can see it has a single hinge. AFAIK this is a fairly rare configuration for the KZs.
